The snowflakes latched on to me this night as I ventured home
Beautiful and cold, like a swarm of frozen kisses falling from the sky
It was a winter gust that brought you to my door
Two frosted hearts without hope
In spring we blossomed,
by summer we were parched
In autumn the fall,
the leaves were all lost
Now it's winter again and your voice rides the wind
It's your howling I hear in the empty streets
I stare out the window, into the purple night
And wonder how much longer I can hold on to this warmth.
